Yes this product is from split log/block. Each piece will show evidence of the split, showing no grain-slope/run-out.
Hello. So based on your answer above, are you saying that 1 bdft equals the bracing for 2 guitars? So if I choose a quantity of 1 to add to my cart, that should be enough for 2 guitars? Thanks for all your help!

We are not luthiers, but are artisain wood processors.. There are many bracing patterns, formulas, and recipes. I was told by a luthier freind 20 yrs ago that he would figure and order 1/2 board foot of bracewood for his guitar biilding design and rhe way he did things. Your process may be different. 1 board foot equals 144 cubic inches of volume and our length of brcewood is about 24 inches[just under to fit the 24” box]. Our bracewood is the lowest cost anywhwere, so play it safe and order a smideon more for safe measure.
Hi, I have a question about this product. Is it $7 per board foot, or is it $7 for one piece of bracewood with rough dimensions 1x3x23"? I'm trying to figure out if it is worth while buying this or buying the half box of sawn bracewood listed here https://alaskawoods.com/shop/other-parts-and-materials/other-parts-and-materials-block-stock-and-bracewood-for-head-and-tail-guitar-and-smaller/special-half-box-of-sawn-bracewood/
Also, is one option particularly better in terms of shipping costs? I'm based in Australia.

The bracewood is sold by the Board Foot volume.. Your example of 1x3 is approx. 1/2 bdft, so 2 of that size boards. Regarding the best options for shipping cost; cost is calculated by weight. the first pound is very expensive, and the price per pound drops as weight increases up to the max weight for the destination country. The hlaf box is approx 15 bdft volume and should be enough to make bracing for 30 gtrs. So I have been told. The postage calculater will display shipping costs as product is added to your cart, once to enter destination country , state if applicable, and postal code.
