Wry nice piece for head and tail blocks or braces! Can’t wait to get started on my build!

The quality of the wood itself is very good. But I’m disappointed. The description says the MIN. SIZE is 2″X3″X23″. Of the 8 pieces I received, none were more than 1-7/8″ thick. Only one was 3″ wide; the rest were 2-7/8″ except for one at 2-3/4′. And two of those have wane that reduces their useful sizes to 2-1/2 X 1-3/4 and 1-7/8 X 1-1/2. Measured moisture contents ranged from 7.3% to 9.5%. It hardly seems they could have dried out enough during transit to cause that much shrinkage from 2″X3″. They would have had to start out well over 40% MC to shrink that much. Brent Sr. told me a while back that ASW could no longer do custom orders, so I ordered these as an alternative, knowing they’d be a close call – not close enough as it turns out. Maybe some day I’ll find a use for what I received other than what I planned. Please update the product description to accurately reflect what your customers should expect to receive.

John, the listing was made 15-20 yrs ago and I never really actually checked the actual measurements of the dried boards. Thera are cut from block of wet wood that is often times Saturated with even more than 40% MC. They have always been cut 2×3.
The nipped corner edges are because this product is getting cut from wedges left of the block, or corrections wedges of the block to get back on VG for guitar tops. The nipped corner is part of the wedge face. It never seemed to be an issue in all these yrs when this product was purchased and used for the intended purpose. same is true with native flute blanks that are getting turned om a lathe.
