Ultra Light Sitka Spruce Archtop Guitar

Description
Ultra Light Jumbo tops are produced from the finest tonewood fiber in the world. Procured from salvage sourced old-growth Sitka Spruce.

Cut from bridge stringer log we purchased in 1998. A log that was cut in the early 80`s for a log bridge. It is the lightest weight sitka we have ever encountered out of millions of board feet of large diameter sitka we have processed into soundboard material. 15% lighter as a matter of fact. About the same weight as our fine textured western red cedar. It is a bit looser texture that most old growth. The butt of the log had wider grain than the small end 60+ feet up the tree. They are loud and vibrant. Most boards have the occasional bearclaw.

* Note- Another log/ tree has been found with the same tonal properties and very similar aesthtic properties.. This second tree is water salvaged float log and is whiter in color.
