Just a humble retired guy here in Murphy NC writing to tell you how much I appreciate the Sitka Spruce I purchased from Alaska Specialty Woods. I have complete 2 guitars so far using the light quilt and light curly salvaged Sitka, a Grand Auditorium and a Dreadnought.
I build as gifts to honor people in our lives that are involved in music ministry and other service roles. The guitar fronts are joined, inlayed and braced, then placed in a padded box and handed off to the families. Family and friends sign the inside surface, and add special messages to the recipient. In most cases, the person receiving the guitar had no idea I was building it for them.
The guitars look wonderful and sound amazing!
The Grand Auditorium was for my brother to celebrate his healing from lymphoma. Here is a picture of his friend Thomas - nice lightning that shows off the light quilt:
The Dreadnought was for Rayburn Mason, who has been hosting monthly picking sessions for over a decade. They welcome all folks, both beginners and super pickers, with great fellowship and encouragement to all:
God Bless You!
