Like other species of soundboard products, these boards will make excellent soundboards tonally, but have the character of color variation and hard grain.
Dreadnought — Most 2-piece bookset boards are cut 8.5″ x 23″, but may or may not pattern the full width and length. These tops will pattern per half: Lower bout 8″, waist 5.25″, upper bout 5.75″ x 19.75-20″ inches long, which is the range of dreadnought guitar patterns we reference. If your measurements crowd these dimensions, we recommend contacting us before ordering to discuss your specifications.
These tops are produced from the finest tonewood fiber in the world, sourced from salvage-recovered old-growth Alaskan Yellow Cedar.
Enhanced Resonance for Your Dreadnought Guitar
Unlocking the full potential of your instrument, these yellow cedar dreadnought guitar tops offer an exceptional sonic foundation. The inherent properties of old-growth Yellow Cedar, aged over centuries, provide an extraordinary stiffness-to-weight ratio. This critical characteristic translates into superior projection and a broad dynamic range, allowing your dreadnought to sing with clarity and power. Experience enhanced resonant properties and a balanced tonal palette that plantation-grown alternatives simply cannot match, giving your instrument a voice all its own.

I completed am approximately 000 size guitar with one of these tops within the last month. It was the first of this specie I have used. The top became musical at .114″ thick and is domed to a twenty five foot radius and is lightly braced in split Sitka Spruce, conventional X-brace pattern. I am DELIGHTED! The instrument responds quickly with excellent balance, superior volume and a shimmering brightness and sustain. An added feature is that while being worked, it imparts a strong pleasant aroma different than Western Red Cedar. But the most important thing is that the guitar is KILLER.
