These tops are produced with the finest tonewood fiber in the world. Procured from salvage sourced old-growth Sitka Spruce.
These are High Grade tops. Because of many reasons, It takes a special tree/log to get any boards like these out of. There are very nice tops of quite consistent color and texture. They can have subtle character marks. and May have anomalies and/or defects or discoloration that are either outside of the pattern on the show side, or could be inside the pattern on the reverse
, underside of the board, and not affecting tonal, structural or the visual of a finished soundboard. All of our boards are surfaced enough so we can properly grade the board to luthier specs.There is only 1 grade better, BUT VERY FEW. And the Master Grade sort is just the cream selected from these AAA`s. Quantity breaks @ 12, 50 & 100 or more sets.
Dreadnaught – Most 2 pc bookset boards are cut 8.5+” x 23 but may or not pattern all of the width and length. These tops will pattern [per half] Lower bout 8”, waist 5.25 , upper bout 5.75” x 19.75-20” inches long which is the range of the 4 dreadnought gtr patterns we have to go by. If your measurements crowd these dimensions, it would be wise to let us know what your doing in the comments box of the order, during checkout; or best, contact us before ordering.
